There's nothing like someone who has actually lived through the hardship of losing a job. Rick's book is invaluable.

Have you lost your job? Are you wondering how to stay encouraged when your world just came crashing down around you? Are you mad at God for allowing this to happen to you? Is your spouse still in your corner, or are you feeling all alone? Are you afraid that your best days are behind you? Do you have difficulty getting out of bed in the morning to face another day of rejection in your job search? Are you becoming desperate because your funds are drying up? Is it difficult to see what good could possibly come of such pain?

If so, this is the perfect book for you. Author Rick Pritikin understands exactly how you feel. I found Rick's book to be one of the BEST on the market. Why? Because he isn't writing from some poolside at a resort sipping tall drinks. Rick writes as someone who has actually experienced the disappointment and discouragement that comes from having to tell his spouse and children he was out of work. In that respect, Rick is a trusted and understanding companion. His insights are born out of suffering. And yet he has found strength, hope and encouragement in the presence of God which he readily shares in this collection of 31 practical meditations.

I found his HELP WANTED prayers at the end of each reading to be inspiring. And the fact that there's a place to journal my thoughts is especially appreciated. I love the fact that this is such an affordable little book. Heck, it's about the cost of a greeting card yet WAY more meaningful to someone in the midst of a career transition. I highly recommend this book and, in fact, I've purchased copies for my friends who are likewise experiencing a job loss. Thanks, Rick, for this gift!

Has Your Job Been Downsized?

Pritikin has written thirty-one short pieces about various aspects of job lose and recovery. He includes lined pages for adding personal notes between each devotional. The final ten pages list hundreds of verses giving hope from God during difficult times, such as when job hunting.

Anyone losing a job has normal questions and anxieties. This author addresses such things as Did God really intend this job loss for my good? What can we discover in the midst of trials? Various other helpful insights include why it seems God is slow in answering our prayers. Pritikin reminds us that during hardships we must be patient and trust God for the right answers.

I especially liked his comments on the difference between being active and being productive. It's far too easy to be busy with activities that don't move us toward our goals. We may actually avoid productivity in everyday life, not just during job seeking.

The book reads easily, with personal stories and good writing. Pritikin, a former VP of Thomas Nelson Publishers and COO of Hunt Bros. Pizza, founded Christian Fellowship and Placement Ministries, Inc., a career coaching firm in the Nashville, TN area. He regularly teaches and speaks about career needs.

There are many people who lose their job for unseen reasons & circumstances. These periods of life lead people through doubt, confusion and anxiety and often lead them to question who they are (?), and their work ethic.

In this brief but helpful resource, Rick Pritikin offers help & hope for the hurting & unemployed. The book's format is in 31 days of encouragement and reminders of God's hand on one's life.

Each day is a devotional with a purpose. Each day also includes an area of journaling and fleshing out the purpose labeled in each devotional thought.

This book would be helpful for encouragement and a great tool for pastors, teachers, counselors, and others who lead people through various seasons of life.

To be continued story........frustrated.

This story is a continuing one. It has a blunt ending that is not satisfying. I dislike manipulation of a writer. If the writing and story is good then there is no reason for misleading the readers.
Out of the few reviews posted ,no one mentioned that the story is continued. I find that odd.

This ebook was gifted to me by the author in exchange for an honest review!! I have just finished reading the book and I must say that only three words come to mind...OH MY GOODNESS!!! I am a kindergarten teacher and have had to space my reading times out between riding lesson plans, grading papers, and cutting out things that I have laminated… But during those times that I have been able to sit down and read I have not been able to put this book down!!! For me the author grabbed my attention from page 1 and kept it all the way through to the end! I guess I'm a sucker for heartbreaking love stories... With this book, he author delivers drama, suspense, and hot, HOT PASSION!
Vera and Sebastian have a love story that so many of us wish that we had! The author has given them both such horrific paths end tragic losses... That as their love story unfolds and you see their hearts and souls begin to heal and knit back together , that your own spirit begins to breathe a sigh of relief end rejoice right along with them! You will laugh with this book , cry with this book, and even find yourself holding your breath a th as you read through certain passages. I have found a million different things that have made me to fall in love with this author and the new characters that she err has so beautifully painted and brought to life for me!! Broken Telephone is a comic book that tells a multi-persprctive story and how each character makes things worse for each other.

Broken Telephone is a comic book that tells the overlapping stories of over six “protagonists”. Each chapter changes artist, with 18 in all, and focuses on one main protagonist, sometimes a group of two or three, and how they make the situation worse for the characters in the preceding and succeeding chapters. It begins with a call center in India and hops the globe with each perspective change. The comic is available in its entirety at http://www.broken-telephone.com I would recommend sampling it there and if you enjoy it enough to purchase the ebook, as I did.

Broken Telephone - International Style

I started reading this online and then I purchased it so that I could finish reading it on my kindle. I enjoyed this story. It was interesting how everyone misunderstood what was really going on because they were too impatient to just listen. It was like a game of telephone gone really wrong on an international level.

Useful and straightforward

Plain english and very straightforward explanation of the subject. All the math is presented clearly with attention to the intermediate steps. DC arc flash topic is a bonus. A user could perform a study with the guidance of the book, but most users will find this book a valuable supplement to commercial arc-flash analysis software. I am a P.E., by examination, passed first time. I refer to the book daily as I work on arc-flash analysis software. Strongly recommended.

About the Author
Dr. Aschheim has more than 25 years of private practice experience in all aspects of cosmetic and restorative dentistry. He has lectured and conducted workshops throughout the world and has been a major contributor to the dental literature.

He joined the staff of the Department Of Dentistry at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in as a Clinical Instructor and was promoted to Assistant Professor in 1992 and Section Chief of Esthetic Dentistry and Advanced Technologies in 1999. He was elevated to Associate Clinical Professor in 2004. He also joined the staff of the Advanced Programs for International Dentists at New York University College of Dentistry as an Associate Clinical Professor in 2011.

Following the September 11th attack of the World Trade Center, Dr. Aschheim became a dental consultant to the Office of the Medical Examiner for the City of New York. He was instrumental in setting up the digital image acquisition section and served as a liaison between the department and the developer of the dental identification software utilized by the NYC Medical Examiner's office. Since that time he has developed a new software package that should further reduce the time necessary to make a dental identification in mass disasters and has given lectures and workshops on the subject. He was appointed Assistant Chief Forensic Odontologist to the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner in 2009. He has also consulted throughout the world on Forensic Dental Informatics and won the ADA SCDI Informatics award in 2011.

Mediocre at best

Attractive layout, nice diagrams, broad coverage of areas. Very poor information. Lack of basic info. For example, according to the book, the ideal prep for a pfm is 360 shoulder with bevel. I don't think anyone would seriously use this. Discussion of luting and cements for all ceramics is cursory. In conclusion: there are much better sources out there for the money. Steer clear.

Good reason for self publish

Clearly a self publish book with limited editing. Several typos and grammar mistakes. But that's not why poor review. Book goes into first project using casting before any information about sand casting provided. 'Plans' and mechanical drawings poor. No overview of subjects given just dove right into specifics the beginner knows nothing about. There isn't even much about how to make sand casting and moulds but more like random thoughts about misc related stuff going through authors mind. Here's a tip, get a dang editor!

Not as good as Vol 1 but Great for expanding knowledge

Volume 2 is a little more upbeat and in-depth than volume one- but I think the material covered in the first part is a natural progression of volume one. Not a criticism of the author- just an observation that folks who applied themselves to the first volume may already have learned some of the topics in Vol 2.
-I think this book shines its brightest in the fact the same author has expanded on concepts from the first- so continuity is not an issue. Even with the overview material the Volume 2 clearly picks up where volume 1 stopped. Folks encountering any project "glitches" through volume one may find their questions answered in Volume 2 readily. Most aspects of furthering the foundry craft in a home based hobby are carried into this volume- but you can get a feel the commercial venture is picking up steam towards the end- I like to see that.
Definitely reccomended reading and I would strongly encourage anyone to do their begining projects again (if they encountered problems) with this tome under their utility belt.
-Great for college level minds and creative souls looking for knowledge and unbiased authoring.

Mr. Stephen Chastain's newest addition to the amateur foundry
literature is a two volume set titled "Metal Casting for the Small
Foundry" and builds on his established technical expertise and
straightforward explanations in his two prior works "Iron Melting
Cupola Furnaces for the Small Foundry" and Build and Oil-Fired
Tilting Furnace". Mr. Chastain has condensed an enormous amount
of material into these two volumes. By my count he has extracted
information from 35 references and conveys the information in a
clear manner and readable manner. No other work does this for
